Dentures

Dentures or “False teeth” have had a bad press. This should no longer be the case: these days, dentures can be indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Some people prefer the option of removable dentures; however there are a lot of options out there. Rather than opting for removable full or partial dentures, you may decide to have a bridge, or perhaps go for a dental implant. We spend a lot of time going through these options with you, to ensure you have a happy, confident smile.

Why are dentures needed?

Some people are perfectly happy with the odd missing tooth. However, replacing missing or decayed teeth can have great benefits for both your appearance and health. A complete or full denture replaces the natural teeth and provides support for cheeks and lips. Without this support, sagging facial muscles can make a person appear older, and reduce their ability to eat and speak. We can create a full of partial denture for you which will enable you to enjoy a healthy diet and smile with confidence.

How are dentures fitted?

If you are having teeth extracted, your dentures can be made in advance from a template of your mouth, so you can begin wearing them immediately after the extraction. If we are fitting a partial denture, we will colour-match it to your natural teeth. The most important thing is that they are comfortable, and we will work with you as you get used to your new dentures.
